Sunglasses at night...

We've finished!

Unofficial time: 2:31

Approaching the finish...

I'm done running, Jeanne is almost done with her leg, rapidly approaching the finish. Not much longer.

Speaking for myself, it feels really good to be done.

Chris passed Google 3 on his last leg.

We can't find van 2!

We're at the exchange and erin should be coming in soon, but we can't find or raise van 2...will keep updating as we search...

Update: This was a joke; we were trying to freak out Tom -- we actually found the van with no trouble at all.

Ah, the finish is so close...

We here in van 1 are about to wrap up and pass off to van 2 one last
time. We're near exeter. Bons finished off his 9.1 beast with no ill
effects -- in fact, he ran another two miles with his buddy and also
eddie a few legs later. Eddie and I made it through our marathon
lengths, putting us near 26 for the day considering warmups. Oh, and
eddie has power to influence the weather -- it started pouring on him
again at the end of his leg. As for me, I'm still mostly dry, and
while my foot almost broke 6 miles into my last leg (it was
throbbing), I found dirt alongside the road which saved me. Next
post: some times.

Steady drizzle, rough road

Van 2 is still ticking along. The rain is still coming down, more of a drizzle than a downpour. We've lost some more time but still cranking.

Cate is currently flying through her 5.40 miler, leg 22.

2 am and rainy

And everyone is excited

And more wetness...

Don got really wet too. I had to switch from slippers to sandals
because of the mud.

When it rains, it pours

It started with a few sprinkles...and then the skies opened and god,
or some other higher power, poured its wrath out on eddie and katie.

I had quite a pleasant second leg. That is, if complete spacy-ness
and calf cramps are pleasant. But it wasn't too bad after 9.5 the
first time...

Ok, time to find some towels.

We hate Team Army

They "tagged" our van with Yahoo. Fortunately we have Elita to clean it off.

Van 2 is at the start of our second set of legs. We lost some time in the hilly stretches of our first legs. The Spreadsheet doesn't account correctly for some of those hills.

Time for a little shuteye while we wait for Van 1 to finish their legs.

Stats for van 1 leg 1

Name, miles, start, finish
Bons: 6.60, 3:05:36, 3:45:11
Nathan: 9.30, 3:45:11, 4:44:32
Eddie: 8.00, 4:44:32, 5:41:45
Katie: 4.50, 5:41:45, 6:08:02
Don: 4.80, 6:08:02, 6:36:08
Erin: 5.80, 6:36:08, 7:17:20

Note: eddie had a huge hill

In the absence of our leader...

Leg one is done!

Well, we had a great van 1 leg 1. No reception, so sorry for the sparse posts. Bons led off quite solidly, and then eddie and I took over for a few hours, me with a 9.5 beast and eddie with a 8 mile and 7 percent grade. Everyone else got to run back down the hill, but did so quite well. We're off to get some grub - after four hours of running, we sadly can't eat much because van 2 is only on for 2.5 hours...

Preparing for the first leg...

And we're off

Bons has started his first leg: start time 3:05.

Van 1 is inbound

Well, we're on our way to the start, cruising along hwy 93 and having
stocked up on all the necessities...

Van 2 is on the road...

Headed to the start.
